Welcome to MoneySmart! Founded by Brandon Ryu, a student at Newport Highschool who loves studying the stock market and going backpacking. MoneySmart is a program dedicated to helping students in grades 4-6 gain a foothold in money management skills. Through engaging and interactive lessons, Brandon hopes to make financial literacy accessible to all students.
Our lessons help students understand what money is and how it works in the real world. We talk about needs vs. wants, how kids can earn money, and the importance of saving and budgeting. Students also explore opportunity cost by making choices and finish with a fun entrepreneurship challenge where they create and pitch their own mini-business idea. Every session is hands-on, exciting, and designed to build smart money habits early.
